Well Spotted!

These little tips may help you in the constant battle against spots/dust bunnies/blips/dots and all else!

1. – did you know that if you do have these vermin skulking on your sensor they will show up more at high (narrow) apertures? At f9 they may not be too visible but shoot that pic again at f32 and prepare for an invasion of said critters.

2. – consider the sky in a landscape. Do you REALLY NEED IT? If not then hide it – this is real dust bunny territory – they LOVE nice clear skies. It is almost a breeding ground for them. Not to show sky = not to show spotty things too.

These are NOT a substitute for cleaning, or getting cleaned, the sensor but they do help.

Trust me – I am a fully qualified spot spotter…

🙂

I test my sensor every now and again by shooting a patch of sky at f16 or above and then examine it for dust bunnies to see if it needs cleaning.
