Last week I was running a photo workshop in the beautiful Mid Wales hills. One of the locations we visited was the remote and wonderfully situated Soar y Mynydd Chapel near the reservoir of Llyn Brianne. I submitted one of the pics I took with the group onto my facebook page and the photo was commented on regarding the warmth of the colours but that the sky made a very cool, blue impression.
That comment, in my view, was so valid. I have reproduced both pics below and have to say that the sky, on reflection, has no place in this image. If the sky adds little or nothing then ‘lose it’ – I should have done so in the camera. To me the cropped shot is much stronger and really strengthens the autumn colours in the beech trees.
Would love to hear your views!
